Johnson Controls to share business skills in federal Mentor Protg Program

June 23, 2003—Johnson Controls’ World Services division has entered into an agreement to participate in the Mentor Protg Program administered by the US Department of the Treasury. The World Services division, which works exclusively with federal government customers, will mentor Re-Engineered Business Solutions, a small disadvantaged logistics management company located in Clarksville, Maryland, for one year, focusing in the areas of business development and proposal preparation.

The Mentor Protg Program is designed to motivate and encourage firms to assist small businesses, including HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses in enhancing their capabilities. The program is also designed to help small businesses perform Department of the Treasury contracts and subcontracts, and to foster the establishment of long-term business relationships between these entities and Treasury prime contractors.
