LED Lighting Fixtures expands its lines with new LED-based downlights

May 9, 2007—LED Lighting Fixtures Inc. (LLF) announced it will release a four-inch LED-based downlight product (LR4) for commercial and residential markets beginning in the fourth quarter of 2007. The LR4 will deliver approximately 500 lumens with a wall plug input power of 10 watts, says the company.

This product uses LLF’s proprietary LED technology, which generates white light in a new way, offering beautiful color rendering (CRI greater than 90), and a choice of warm or cool color temperatures (2700K or 3500K), notes LLF.

LLF will demonstrate two revolutionary LED-based prototypes at LightFair, states the company. The first is a high-output recessed downlight that will deliver over 1,500 lumens of high quality light. The second is a recessed two-foot-by-two-foot architectural luminaire that delivers 3,800 lumens and will sell for less than $300. Both of these designs are targeted for commercial applications that currently use fluorescent sources. They are expected to be released in 2008. The company used LEDs supplied by Cree, Inc.

The company also will demonstrate the first viable LED fixture for high output commercial downlights and a fixture for large area ambient lighting that, says LLF, could replace conventional fluorescent lights used for office or institutional environments.

LLF is currently accepting orders for its LR6 six-inch LED-based downlight product through its distribution network and expects its first shipments to customers in June 2007.
