November 7, 2005—Tornado Industries introduced a battery-operated motorized broom specially designed for the professional cleaning industry—an industry first, according to the company.
Called the EB30/1, this machine is light and ergonomically designed, with an adjustable handle and long-life battery that is quickly and easily recharged.
With a noise level of only 59 decibelsabout the same volume as soft office conversationthe EB30/1 can be used in and around office areas even while people are on the phone, says the company.
The EB30/1 comes with a removable, compact battery that can be recharged at least 400 times. For carpets, the EB30/1 will run approximately 30 minutes before recharging is necessary; for hard-surface floors, it will run about 45 minutes.
At just about four pounds, the EB30/1 can be effortlessly carried up and down stairs or over long distances. The base of the machine is so low that it easily sweeps under furniture, desks, tables, and radiators. And because the machine can clean and sweep as close as 1/16 of an inch next to walls, edge and corner cleaning is a breeze.
