NeoCon Gold: Wilsonart’s Trac-Loc laminate flooring installation system is glueless

July 3, 2002—Expressly for commercial interiors, Wilsonart’s Trac-Loc new laminate flooring installation system slashes installation time and expense. The installation system permits quick reconfiguration of the floor to incorporate new design motifs without having to replace or remanufacture the entire floor. It also speeds maintenance and repair.

The Trac-Loc installation system consists of a separate aluminum track onto which laminate flooring planks or tiles are inserted. The edges of the planks or tiles are scribed with a groove that locks the planks or tiles in place. No glue or factory-installed adhesive is necessary to adhere the laminate planks and tiles together. Thus, laminate flooring planks and tiles can be easily taken off the aluminum track and reconfigured, or moved to a new location. It is non-directional, permitting several crews to install the system. Crews can start in the middle of a room, for example, and work in different directions, thus speeding installation time. Further, furnishings can be placed immediately on the floor after installation. Wilsonart’s Trac-Loc installation system received the Gold Award in The Best of NeoCon competition at The Merchandise Mart, Chicago, and was cited as a fast, easy, modular, non-directional, and reusable system.
