New BOMA audio seminars cover mold, defibrillators and ADA

October 28, 2002—The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International will provide three two-hour audio seminars this fall which examine several critical aspects of regulatory and risk management within the industry.

The series, Rules, Regulations, and Real Estate: Working in the Regulatory Environment, will address topics such as mold-related issues, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Building Codes & Standards, and automated external defibrillators (AEDs).

Upcoming audio conferences are scheduled for October 30, November 12, and November 19, 2002. Each of the audio seminars will feature expert panelists, a live question-and-answer session, a complimentary cassette tape, and a resource packet in PDF format.

Each seminar will be delivered via telephone to eliminate travel expenses and time away from the office. Through speakerphone, multiple numbers of commercial real estate professionals can receive vital information on these topics while only having to pay for one “site” (one telephone connection). Building and property owners and mangers, asset managers, facilities and corporate facilities managers, leasing agents, engineers, architects developers, corporate counsels, and vendors and suppliers of the commercial real estate industry are encouraged to attend.

On Wednesday, October 30, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. EST, the seminar “Balancing Regulatory Responsibility and Tenants Needs: A Case Study on Mold,” will present the latest efforts to regulate mold exposure and strategies for addressing tenant concerns about mold.

“ADA and Building Codes & Standards” will be held on Tuesday, November 12, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. EST. Panelists will provide an update on changes in the access requirements and how to comply with new requirements.

“New Products and the Regulatory Environment: A Case Study on AEDs” will be held on Tuesday, November 12, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EST, and will address how the regulatory process affects the introduction of new products and services. The panel will also address issues to consider before installing an AED.

Registration fees per seminar are $175 for BOMA members and $225 for non-members per site. Registrants for two or more seminars can save $25 per seminar. For additional information, the names of participating panelists, or to register, call BOMA’s Education Hot Line at 202/326-6331, or register online.
