May 21, 2008—A new company, Risk Mitigation Systems, has been formed. The technology and services company helps businesses, universities and other organizations optimally plan for and respond to emergencies, the company says.
The company’s flagship product is FIRSTResponder, an incident response technology that bridges the gap between an emergency action plan and the tactical responses needed to effectively respond to an event. Georgia State University is piloting the system.
Risk Mitigation Systems provides end-to-end incident response, monitoring, communications technology and services that optimize incident resolution and mitigates the human, business, capital and liability impact associated with incidents, crisis and disasters.
FIRSTResponder offers business continuity services and a fully-hosted, multi-layered response platform. The system provides comprehensive planning and two-way voice, text and email communications response.
When an incident or emergency occurs, FIRSTResponder’s pre-defined command and control support plan is immediately and automatically triggered, directing the communications and actions of all parties responsible for resolving the incident. The system also includes workflow-enabled communications and recording capabilities, ensuring that not only do the right people get involved at the right time with the right information, but the system creates an auditable record of the actions taken by all parties.
The company’s Professional Services group assists customers with the development, implementation and validation of plans and protocols to ensure the successful recovery and restoration of interrupted critical functions.
