September 5, 2005—OmniVision Technologies, Inc., the leading supplier of CMOS image sensors, has announced that, with eight major design wins to date, its recently launched OV7940 advanced CMOS image sensor has already gained strong market acceptance from CCTV/video monitoring security systems makers.
The cost efficient, highly integrated true single chip OV7940 CMOS video camera combines a high level of functionality with excellent low light performance, enabling it to compete head-to-head in the CCD dominated segment of the security surveillance market, the company says.
