PDG Environmental awarded $5 million in new contracts that include hurricane-damaged projects

October 5, 2005—PDG Environmental, Inc., a national specialty contractor, reports that it has been awarded several contracts valued in excess of $5 million in the aggregate.

PDGE’s Los Angeles office received a $1.75 million contract for asbestos and lead paint abatement at the historic Ambassador Hotel in that city. PDGE’s flagship division was awarded $1.5 million contract for restoration of a facility in Florida damaged by last year’s Hurricane Charlie. The project is near completion.

PDGE’s New York office received a $1.1 million contract to perform asbestos removal at a high school in northern New Jersey and a $.3 million contract for asbestos abatement at an industrial site in New Jersey. Both projects are near completion.

PDGE’s South Carolina office was awarded a $.4 million project for lead and asbestos abatement at a transportation museum in North Carolina. It too is near completion.

“In addition to the above significant contract awards,” states John Regan, chairman and CEO, “PDGE continues to increase its hurricane response activity along the Gulf Coast. We currently have over 400 workers and supervisory personnel employed at a number of sites providing emergency response, demolition, drying and reconstruction.”

He adds,” The $1.5 million contract awarded to Flagship was a result of damage from last year’s hurricanes and is an indication of how long reconstruction due to hurricane devastation will continue.”
