PureSafety and ASHI team up to offer online safety courses

December 8, 2006—PureSafety, a leading provider of online safety training and risk management solutions, has formed a partnership with the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), a leading association of professional safety and health educators.

Under the partnership, PureSafety will now provide customers with access to online versions of four of ASHI’s most popular courses:

  • Basic First Aid, for people who are occupationally required or desire to have basic first aid knowledge and skills to enable them to respond to injuries and sudden illness in adults and children.

  • CPR and AED for the Community and Workplace, for laypeople who are occupationally required or desire to have CPR knowledge and skills using AEDs.

  • CPR PRO for the Professional Rescuer, for health care providers, first responders and professional rescuers in and outside the hospital or those needing professional level basic life support training as an occupational requirement.

  • Bloodborne Pathogens, for people who have reasonable anticipation of contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials in the performance of designated job duties and compliance with the training requirements of OSHA’s bloodborne pathogens standard.

With the PureSafety/ASHI “blended learning” approach, students first take the online course to learn the core curriculum and required knowledge components of the particular subject along with an assessment. They then meet at a later date with the ASHI instructor for the hands-on portion. The online courses can be taken anytime, anywhere, and from any Internet-connected computer.
