Ready mixed concrete association partners with OSHA to reduce injuries and illnesses

November 14, 2003—Workers in the ready mixed concrete industry will benefit from a partnership agreement just signed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA).

The partnership’s main goals are to: reduce the total case incident rate (TCIR) for member companies by 30% over three years; increase the number of ready mixed concrete producers who have formal safety and health programs; decrease workers’ compensation costs for companies that participate in the cooperative agreement; and increase the number of ready mixed concrete employees who successfully complete the OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour training courses.
