June 5, 2006—Renaissance Lighting introduces its linear LED system, providing “cutting-edge” solid state lighting options, according to the company. The Linear series of fixtures—outdoor floodlights and indoor wall washers—produce more than 350 lumen output of white light per linear foot by mixing the light from red, green, and blue LEDs. The RGB LEDs also can be controlled to produce any of the thousands of colors and shades in the lighting spectrum.
A second product in the new evo family of LED lighting fixtures from Renaissance, the Linears follow the company’s ED series downlight in ensuring longer life and higher quality lighting with IntelliBlend technology, a new standard in solid state lighting.
LED diodes are not visible in the Linears, overcoming a commonly heard objection: pixilation. The integrating chamber mixes and blends the light from the LED diodes to produce a single smooth light source, resembling the type of light output lighting designers are accustomed to using.
The effective useful life from Renaissance Lighting’s LED systems is longer than most other LED systems because of the addition of an internal sensor and “sleeper” LEDs. The sensor constantly monitors both the light output and color, dynamically making the necessary adjustments and activating extra sleeper LEDS. The projected life of the system is 50-70,000 hours.
The Linears are available in lengths of 1′, 2′, 4′, and 8′ in both indoor and outdoor versions. The Linear Outdoor Floodlight is IP66 rated and is useful for hard-to-reach outdoor lighting areas because it can last 15-plus years without having to replace component parts, according to Renaissance. The Linear Indoor Wall Washer can be installed on the ceiling for color wall-washing or on the wall for color-washing of ceilings and coves.
