August 21, 2002—As part of the San Diego Regional Energy Office’s “Cool Savings with Cool Roofs Program,” a $23,706 check was presented to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors for the Cool Roof that was installed on the San Diego County Operations Center Annex building. The County has installed several energy efficient roofs in the last year and has adopted a policy that all new roofs and roof replacements for County buildings will be energy efficient.
SDREO’s “Cool Savings with Cool Roofs Program” has been successful in helping promote the installation of over 20 million square-feet of energy efficient roofs since February of 2001. The program is scheduled to end in November 2002. For more information contact Program Manager Frank White at 619/699-0727.
