January 12, 2007—SheerVision, Inc., developed its newly released FireFly Infinity LED light to be the first completely portable LED illumination system providing highest light intensity on the market. FireFly Infinity is the first product from SheerVision’s newly formed illumination division, SheerBrite.
Featuring an illumination level of 48,400 Lux (4500 foot candles), the FireFly Infinity nearly doubles the brightness level of traditional LED lights, including the company’s original FireFly offering. FireFly Infinity combines the cost advantages and mobility of traditional LED lights with the high illumination levels typically associated with fiber optic lighting. All of these features, says SheerVision, are achieved without the need for fragile fiber optic cables or expensive bulb replacements. The FireFly Infinity headlight weighs less than one ounce and has a light life of 50,000 hours.
SheerVision’s SheerBrite division was formed to design advanced proprietary and OEM lighting solutions for use in healthcare, commercial, scientific, and recreational applications. The FireFly Infinity, aimed at the dental and medical markets, was designed with an illumination quality that is “comparable, and in some cases superior” to fiber optic lights.
