StoutKart’s new small business start-up kit helps with landscaping, hauling and more

September 5, 2005—The new StoutKart line of hand carts are designed to eliminate unnecessary and strenuous lifting, bending and stretching that can happen when one person attempts to do the job of two, says StoutKart.

In addition to saving man-hours and money, using the carts lessens the risk of injury to the person doing the job, which in turn reduces workers compensation costs, the company says. The carts are useful for pickup and delivery of heavy items including hunting equipment, game, outdoor and camping supplies and construction tools and equipment.

In addition to stand-alone carts, the company sells small business start- up kits for businesses including: pressure washing, pest and rodent control, landscaping and welding. Founded in 2002 by the Stout family, the original carts were designed to move rodent control equipment from jobsite to jobsite.

“As people became aware of the ease of operation and the ability for only one person to operate it, more and more ideas for its use were suggested and became part of our target market,” said owner Jim Stout.

“We have completed a two-year test market during which we have found extensive uses for the cart—and helped people start their own full- or part-time businesses. The four major areas that have worked best are pressure washing, rodent control, welding and custom butchering services.”
