UNICCO e-procurement implementation wins Aberdeens Best Practices report

December 14, 2001—UNICCO Service Company, an integrated facilities services outsourcing company, is profiled in a new Aberdeen Group research report that recognizes 18 enterprises for their Internet-based procurement automation and supply chain technology implementations. In selecting its Best Practices winners, the business technology market analysis firm considered business and implementation strategy, scope of implementation, documented savings, and return on investment (ROI).

With a $90 million maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) materials budget each year, UNICCO was cited for its success in moving to a national purchasing program and implementing e-Procurement to save time and money. UNICCO uses the PECOS Internet Procurement Manager from elcom Inc. to automate the procurement processes from supplier product content production through financial settlement. In just the first six months of its e-Procurement program, UNICCO cut its purchasing cycle in half and saved $500,000 in product costs from better commodity analysis and aggregate spending.
