UNICCO to provide facilities services for Gulfstream Aerospace Corp.

November 8, 2002—UNICCO Service Company has announced a new contract with Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a producer of business jet aircraft. Under the five-year, $41 million contract, UNICCO’s staff of approximately 80 employees will provide integrated facilities services for Gulfstream’s office, manufacturing, completions, and service facilities in Georgia.

As part of the contract, UNICCO, an integrated facilities services outsourcing company, will support Gulfstream’s manufacturing operations with a range of services: plant operations; equipment maintenance and test equipment calibration for equipment that supports the manufacturing process; ground support (managing tools, utilities, and pneumatics to the individual manufacturing stands that service each aircraft as it is being built); facilities engineering (design and engineering of manufacturing support systems and infrastructure); space allocation for moves, adds, and changes; and subcontractor management, including specialized equipment maintenance and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support personnel.

UNICCO says it brings the latest technology to the account. Routine, predictive, and preventive maintenance will be managed through a newly installed Maximo computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) used in collaboration with handheld personal digital assistants (PDAs). The advanced equipment will be used to dispatch, update, and close out maintenance procedures. In addition, the myUNICCO.com Web-based portal will be used by UNICCO and Gulfstream management to view reports and analyze maintenance performance metrics.
