May 15, 2006—Universal Lighting Technologies, a global leader in ballasts and controls for commercial lighting applications, has released its new Ballastar T5 ballast for use with F28T5 lamps. According to Universal Lighting, the Ballastar has an increase in efficiency of nearly 8% over standard T5 ballasts, making it “the most efficient T5 light-level switching ballast available today.”
P A single control lead allows the user to switch from full light output down to 50% power level with a standard wall switch or lighting relay. In view of new energy code requirements for lighting controls, explains Universal Lighting, Ballastar products are easy to implement controllable lighting solutions without special controls.
The new Ballastar light-level switching ballast is available with a ballast factor of .95. It also features programmed start technology for long lamp life, universal input voltage (120 to 276 volts), and end-of-lamp life shutdown circuitry with auto-reset is necessary for use with T5 diameter lamps.
