The merger of LG&E Energy and PowerGen of the United Kingdom received the approval from the Virginia State Corporation Commission. Kentucky Utilities, one of LG&E Energy’s two utility subsidiaries, serves about 30,000 customers in five western Virginia counties through Old Dominion Power.
