Water-saver wireless sprinkler system by Nighthawk and Contact Wireless controls water control clocks

September 26, 2005—Nighthawk Systems, Inc., and Contact Wireless jointly developed the Hydro Pro 1000 wireless sprinkler control system that can turn on/off or delay in any irrigation system, according to Nighthawk. Using Nighthawk’s intelligent control units and the Contact Wireless network infrastructure, a simple phone call or a typed message can activate the irrigation system installed in New Mexico. Multiple, widespread systems can be controlled with a single transmission to prevent unnecessary water usage, Nighthawk says.

Nighthawk and Contact Wireless joined together to develop the Hydro Pro 1000 using a $500,000 grant from New Mexico Governor Richardson’s $10 million Water Innovation Fund.

The launch took place September 22, 2005, at the University of New Mexico’s Johnson Field. H. Douglas Saathoff, Nighthawk’s CEO, stated, ” The Hydro Pro 1000 sprinkler control system can save a huge amount of water. I believe that these initial efforts in New Mexico will lead to further growth opportunities for Nighthawk irrigation control products in New Mexico, and the rest of the United States as well.”

Nighthawk Systems provides wireless, remote monitoring and power control equipment and services for on-demand processing at single or multiple widespread sites. Contact Wireless provides network infrastructures.
