Alarm.com adds Custom Threat Alerting to its security services

April 21, 2006—Alarm.com has enhanced its offerings to let customers receive e-mail or text message alerts for non-intrusion threats that exist around their properties, according to the provider of wireless and Web-enabled security technology. The new offering expands Alarm.com security services by providing real-time, remote property monitoring via the Web in addition to standard alarm detection for homes and businesses. Customers can get the information they need, when they want it, with customized sensor notifications.

“Security systems have traditionally been focused solely on intrusion detection even though most threats come from within the property,” says Steve Trundle, CEO of Alarm.com. “We’ve built a system that allows people to define the threats where they live or work, monitor these threats even when the system is disarmed, and keep tabs on their property via the Internet and mobile devices, wherever they are.”

Custom Threat Alerting is available exclusively from Alarm.com and authorized Alarm.com dealers and is compatible only with GE Security Products.
