Armstrong Names Lockhart New Chairman and CEO

Armstrong Holdings Inc. announced that Michael D. Lockhart has succeeded George A. Lorch as chairman and chief executive officer of the company. Additionally, Frank A. Riddick, Armstrong’s former chief financial officer who was promoted to chief operating officer in March, assumes the additional title of president. Lorch was also appointed chairman emeritus in recognition of his contributions. He will remain on the Board until after the December 2000 meeting. Lorch, 58, will immediately become an advisor to Lockhart and the Board, a role in which he is expected to serve until January 2001, when he will retire and become a consultant to the company for a two-year period. Lorch communicated to the Board some time ago his desire to retire near the end of 2000.
