November 15, 2006—Bentley Prince Street has announced that all of its standard broadloom and carpet tile products have achieved Scientific Certification Systems’ (SCS) Sustainable Choice Gold/Environmentally Preferable Product (EPP) certification under the new Sustainable Carpet Assessment Draft Standard, NSF-140.
This new draft standard for sustainable carpet replaces the previous EPP standard, to which all of Bentley Prince Street’s standard products were certified.
The company also announced the introduction of a new standard backing line for its broadloom products, High PerformancePC, which contains post-consumer recycled content from a sustainable derivative of the global paper recycling industry.
In the first application of this new technology in the carpet industry, according to the company, mineral residuals are recovered from the recycled waste paper process and incorporated into carpet backing.
Based in Los Angeles County, California, Bentley Prince Street is a leading manufacturer of commercial carpet for corporate, healthcare, hospitality, institutional, residential and retail interiors. For more information, visit the Web site.
