IFMA’s Facility Fusion 2024

World FM Day recognizes and celebrates the vital work that FM professionals contribute to business worldwide, and aims to raise the profile of the FM profession anywhere they influence the health, safety, productivity and well-being of people who utilize the built environment. During the pandemic, FM teams stood at the forefront in making environments and digital platforms available to meet unanticipated demands and were extremely important in keeping many sectors operating. Sustainability, resilience and corporate responsibility are now center stage for leaders worldwide. These topics significantly impact corporate decision making, and the facility manager stands at a crossroad where they all converge.

Titled “Inspire, Integrate, Innovate: Ignite Your Career in FM” for 2024, World FM Day activities are encouraged around the world. FM organizations on six continents celebrate World FM Day by holding public events such as staff luncheons, panel seminars and workshops, social media chats, client networking events and more. World FM Day (WFMD) 2024

Billed as the world’s largest trade fair for cleaning professionals, the biennial INTERCLEAN Amsterdam focuses on the latest solutions and trends in the areas of cleaning, hygiene, maintenance, and FM. First and foremost a networking event for the 30,000+ attendees from 120 countries, the show offers a complete industry overview and insight into global developments, and features specially curated educational seminars with inspiring sessions on cutting-edge topics and the technology of the future. More than 900 exhibitors showcase thousands of new and award-winning cleaning products and solutions in 11 exposition halls.

The Extreme Heat Series concludes with FEMA’s Extreme Heat Summit 2024 hosted in Chicago on May-21-22. This in person event builds upon the 2023 Extreme Heat Summit, and brings together public, private, and academic sector leaders from throughout the nation to further explore the impact of extreme heat on diverse populations and discuss strategies for mitigation and preparedness.

Extreme heat has become an increasingly frequent and severe natural hazard that poses significant risk to health, safety, infrastructure, and critical resources. As the threat of extreme heat events continues to grow, increased collaboration between state, local, tribal, territorial, and federal partners will be required to develop innovative solutions. Participation in the summit will support the development of products and procedures that can be used at all levels of government and organizations before, during, and after extreme heat events.

ASHRAE 2024 is ASHRAE’s major annual conference focused on increasing the efficiency of buildings and building systems, with resources to design, build, control, commission and operate high-efficiency facilities. “Legislative initiatives, electrification, artificial intelligence, and other technological and social forces are impacting ASHRAE members across all aspects the built environment,” said Brian Fronk, technical conference chair. “The program tracks for the 2024 ASHRAE Annual Conference in Indianapolis seek to explore the challenges and opportunities in responding to these changes, while continuing to focus on core HVAC&R fundamentals, equipment, and research and development.” The program meets continuing education requirements, and most sessions are approved for LEED AP credits and AIA learning units.
