July 25, 2001—ElectriCities, a trade organization representing Public Power Communities and Cayenta have announced plans to offer member cities of ElectriCities a new Customer Information System (CIS). The Cayenta CIS solution will help cities streamline their billing procedures while increasing efficiency through a program specifically designed for municipal organizations.
Through the agreement with Cayenta, all ElectriCities members are eligible to take advantage of a preferred pricing arrangement with Cayenta. ElectriCities is offering participation in this project initially to the members of North Carolina Municipal Power Agency 1. Power Agency 1 represents 19 cities in Western North Carolina. The cities of Gastonia and Lexington, two members of Power Agency 1 have already contracted to use the Cayenta CIS solution. The combined value of the agreements with Gastonia and Lexington is approximately $2.1 million.
