CIBSE publishes TM46: Energy Benchmarks

by jbs110708 e3 — November 12, 2008—The UK’s Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) has launched a new publication that offers a comprehensive outline of building energy benchmarks to enable engineers and managers responsible for the operations of buildings to provide not only high quality engineering services but to run and manage them as economically and efficiently as possible.

TM46: Energy Benchmarks offers a complete outline of building energy benchmarks: what they are, how they were developed, and how to use them. It provides details of separable energy uses and includes weather and occupancy adjustments. The publication compares the ratings of Display Energy Certificates (DECs) with energy benchmarks.

Along with this and other recent publications, additional upcoming CIBSE titles that will aid compliance with Part L of the UK’s Building Regulations and Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) are:

  • Energy and carbon emissions regulations
  • TM47: Operational ratings for Display Energy Certificates
  • KS14: Energy efficient heating
  • LG02: Hospitals and health care buildings (new edition)
  • TM48: Climate change data for building simulation
