March 7, 2005—In its annual issue naming the top people and companies in design, I.D. Magazine selected Humanscale as one of ten companies worldwide that help push design forward.
Humanscale was the only company from the contract furniture industry honored in the January issue. Other recognized companies included Nike, BMW, OXO and Aveda.
The publication reported that Humanscale may not be the largest contract furnishings manufacturer, but in the area of ergonomic design, its a giant.
With a focus on ergonomics, ease-of-use and functionality, Humanscale has designed and launched benchmark products in several categories since its founding in 1982, including the Freedom chair, 2G keyboard support and M7 monitor arm, the company says.
