England’s Interserve fm has been chosen by Eli Lilly and Company Limited to supply a 10 million pound, 3 + 2 year facilities management contract at its Speke manufacturing facility. Interserve fm will take over management of a variety of non-production-related activities over a six-month period. The first phase included management of security, general and production cleaning, canteen, scaffolding, laundry, and work wear. In the current phase, Interserve is adding on general, engineering, and raw materials stores; HVAC systems; effluent sampling; term maintenance; safety equipment; gardening; stationery and supplies; and the coordination of carpentry. The transfer of responsibility should be completed by January 2001.
