ISU’s facilities management team receives recognition for excellence

April 26, 2002—Iowa State University’s Facilities Planning and Management (FPM) recently received Tier 3 leadership recognition in the Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence (IRPE) program, a quality improvement program developed by the Iowa Quality Center, Marion. The recognition is given to organizations that demonstrate, both in practice and achievements, a high level of performance excellence in the areas of leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, information and analysis, creative human resources, process management, and business results.

ISU’s FPM received Tier 1 recognition in October 2000 and skipped Tier 2. Facilities staff are putting into place processes and methods which they hope will help them eventually attain the highest levels of achievement in the program, which are bronze, silver, and gold awards.
