LEDtronics new 1-watt LED flashlight focuses on brightness and reliability

July 8, 2005—LEDtronics’ new LED flashlight—called the FlashLED FLT-4001—July 8, 2005—is described by the firm as emitting dazzling 1800 foot-candles (fc) of white light with the press of the switch. The company also notes that 1-watt Luxeon LEDs are “the brightest solid-state light source commercially available.”

The 1-Watt LED focuses the light into tight beam for an intensity of 2000fc. The long-lasting white LED lamp operates for more than 50,000 hours (six years), according to LEDtronics.

The fully integrated flashlight head (the LED lamp, lens, and reflector) optimizes light color, intensity, and dispersion. FlashLED FLT-4001 operates for 8 days on three standard alkaline C-cell batteries. It measures 9.94 (253mm) in length and weighs 15.5 ounces (0.439kg) with batteries installed. LEDtronics designed the new FlashLED FLT-4001 for such uses as reading maps, inspecting utility conduits, policing, and examining instruments.

Price for the FlashLED FLT-4001 is $59.95 each, with quantity discounts available.
