Lightfair Int’l 2000 Exceeds Exhibitor and Attendee Records

Lightfair International 2000, the largest architectural and commercial lighting Trade Show in North America and the world’s largest architectural and commercial lighting Conference, exceeded all exhibitor and attendance expectations in New York, NY when it hosted 18,638 architectural, engineering, and design professionals at Javits Convention Center, May 9-11, 2000. The show featured more than 400 commercial and architectural lighting manufacturers, occupying over 1,000 booths as exhibitors for the 2000 event.

Manufacturers utilize Lightfair International to introduce new products and emerging technologies developed during the previous year by participating in one of the most well attended presentations, The New Product Showcase & Awards Presentation, sponsored by Architectural Lighting Magazine and Lightsearch.com. The IALD 17th Annual International Lighting Design Awards Presentation, Wednesday, May 10, 2000, honored seven lighting projects with prestigious Lighting Design Awards of Merit for their outstanding lighting solutions and creative techniques. Two Special Citations were also awarded. Best Booth Awards were presented to exhibitors in four categories.

The conference featured thirty seminars and seven daylong Workshops, all offering AIA, ASID, IIDA and IESNA accreditation, where applicable, all providing NCQLP Lighting Education Units.

During the three days of the New York event, exhibitors selected booth space for the 2001 event, which will be held at Las Vegas Convention Center, in Las Vegas, NV, May 30 – June 1, 2001. Currently, a strong mix of both domestic and international manufacturers have already reserved a vast majority of booth space.
