See how you can use IoT data for contact tracing and to keep workers safe and buildings sustainable as you reopen

by Brianna Crandall — July 20, 2020 — Microshare, a provider of workplace and building data solutions such as contact tracing, predictive cleaning and occupancy monitoring, has entered into a global strategic alliance with multicloud solutions expert Rackspace Technology to help businesses, governments and the global economy weather the pandemic and reopen safely.

Under this agreement, Rackspace Technology will provide solutions to customers globally leveraging Microshare’s Internet of Things (IoT) Clean = Safe solutions, providing Microshare with an expanded capacity to deploy its IoT-based commercial real estate and infrastructure solutions at scale along with IoT specialists Kerlink and Semtech, and its global distribution partner Arrow Electronics. Microshare recently announced partnerships with Kerlink and Semtech as well as Notiria and Simplex Services, and has been partnering with Arrow since the end of last year.

Under the terms of the agreement, Rackspace Technology’s global salesforce will resell Microshare solutions into its worldwide sales channels and afford Microshare added ability to reach enterprise customers and engage Rackspace Technology’s post-deployment services. Demand for building data to help secure staff, customers and tenants has exploded since the emergence of the COVID-19 virus, and both companies believe Microshare’s comprehensive approach to building wellness will help address concerns about safety, liability and sustainability going forward.

Kevin Jones, CEO at Rackspace Technology, stated:

Today, now more than ever, security, intelligence and improved performance is paramount. In addition to extending our IoT capabilities, this partnership further enhances our joint customers’ business continuity, giving them the peace of mind they need.

Martin Blackburn, EMEA managing director at Rackspace Technology, remarked:

Businesses across Europe, the Middle East and Africa are adopting new ways of working and assessing the safety of their staff and customers in the face of COVID-19. This partnership ensures our customers are equipped with the technology needed to monitor the safety of people in their commercial buildings — whether it’s a hospital, shop or bank.

Microshare CEO and Co-Founder Ron Rock added:

We look at our new relationship with Rackspace Technology not only as a guarantee that Microshare solutions will be available at scale wherever they are in demand. It’s also as a validation of our decision to prioritize a disruptive, quick-to-deploy solution set that can be easily tailored for the needs of commercial office portfolios, corporate campuses, hospitals and healthcare facilities and large factories, rail stations and airports, all of which have already adopted Microshare solutions.

Microshare’s solutions leverage what it calls the world’s leading IoT network, LoRaWAN, enabling the collection of real-time, 24/7 data on everything from energy use and air quality to the location of expensive assets — without interaction with sensitive corporate computer networks.

As its global footprint expands, Microshare is leveraging a number of channels to transform the operations of the some of the world’s largest corporations and public institutions, providing its clients with digital twinning “sensing-as-a-service” solutions for the COVID-19 moment and beyond.
