May 25, 2007—Nelson, based in Philadelphia, has reached an agreement in principle to merge with two New York-based firms, A/R Environetics Group, Inc., and Furnstahl & Simon Architects, LLC.
The merged firms will operate under the Nelson name and brand, providing architecture, interior design, strategies, workplace services, engineering and information services to clients in the New York area while also adding resources to Nelson’s global service capabilities.
Nelson previously had offices in New York City. The merged entities will bring its headcount to 100 professionals, moving it to well within the top ten firms in New York City.
Individually, the three firms enjoy reputations for quality work with a focus on interior spaces. A/R Environetics is a full service firm providing corporate interior architectural services. Furnstahl & Simon has been in business for 24 years and provides expertise in facilities for corporations, educational institutions and non-profit organizations.
