by Rebecca Walker — July 28, 2008—Reed Construction Data announces the formation of the Reed Planroom Network, a new program designed to share value with planrooms and construction associations that wish to distribute their project news, plans and specifications information.
Interested planrooms can send project information in electronic format to Reed, which pays the exchange for information and then offers the project information to customers. In addition, participating planrooms can offer Reed products, including RSMeans books and online project cost services, to their members at a discount, says the company.
Since January 2008, The Reed Planroom Network concept has been piloted in seven planrooms across California and Nevada and has resulted in off-setting the costs associated with posting digital projects.
