Sears selects UNICCO for facilities and office services

May 19, 2003—UNICCO, an integrated facilities services outsourcing company, has been selected by Sears Canada to provide custodial and office services as well as lighting maintenance at the company’s headquarters. The new contract includes a wide range of services for Sears’ signature 9-story, 400,000 sq. ft. building. In addition to daytime and nighttime cleaning of both interior office areas and the parking garage, UNICCO is managing Sears’ mailroom operations. UNICCO is also maintaining and servicing Sears’ interior and exterior lighting. It has implemented a relamping program that will increase lighting effectiveness while decreasing both energy and maintenance costs.

“At Sears Canada, we apply the same high standards to our headquarters building as we do to each of our stores,” said Duncan Campbell, operations manager, Sears Canada. “UNICCO fits in with our orientation. Their mailroom services have a direct effect on our productivity and we’re also beginning to see results from the relamping program. We’re pleased with UNICCO’s quality of work.”

UNICCO appreciates the significance of the Sears brand, and looks forward to showcasing two of their major value-added services—lighting management and office services. For more information, visit UNICCO.
