March 30, 2005—SimplexGrinnell, a business unit of Tyco Fire and Security and a provider of fire and life-safety systems and services, recently announced two multimillion dollar contracts, one with the Smithsonian Institution and the other with Hilton Hotels Corporation.
SimplexGrinnell’s agreement with the Smithsonian Institution covers testing and inspection of fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems at 49 Smithsonian facilities in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. The services will help ensure the systems and other related fire protection equipment remain in good physical condition and in proper working order.
SimplexGrinnell was also selected by Hilton Hotels Corporation to provide fire alarm systems to five premier Hilton Hotels, including the world-renowned Waldorf-Astoria in New York City. SimplexGrinnell will design and install Simplex 4100U fire detection and alarm systems in the Waldorf-Astoria, the Hilton Washington in Washington, DC, the Hilton Back Bay in Boston, and two Hilton hotels in Northern Virginia.
