by AF 0511c3 — May 12, 2010—Teknion Corporation introduces two major seating lines: the Connexion task chair with complementary guest chair, and the Topic conference swivel chair. Both were designed by Swiss furniture manufacturer Girsberger.

A natural complement to the task chair, the Connexion guest chair offers comfort, support and easy mobility whether applied in an office, open work area or conference room. Like the task chair, the innovative slat-and-spring backrest automatically conforms to the contours of the back for seated comfort. The guest chair nests, offering space-saving storage, notes the company.

Connexion is available upholstered in Teknion’s extensive offering of seating fabrics, and frame options include Ebony and Polished Chrome. The backrest is available in transparent mesh, or upholstered in fabric or leather.

Connexion meets the most stringent GREENGUARD Certification for Children & Schools Indoor Air Quality. The task chair is 92 percent recyclable and the guest chair 82.7 percent recyclable.

Topic, the conference swivel chair, was designed by Dieter Stierli, who has worked for Girsberger for over 30 years. The chair provides shock-absorbing suspension for a high level of comfort and support, and offers the option of full 360-degree swivel or swivel-return. It also features a four-prong base. Topic is available upholstered in Teknion’s extensive offering of standard and graded-in seating fabrics.

Topic and the Connexion task and guest chairs are the first of several new seating lines designed and engineered by Girsberger that Teknion will market, sell and support in North and South America under a new agreement that enables Girsberger and Teknion to sell each other’s seating products in their respective markets. Teknion will display Topic, Connexion and additional Girsberger-designed seating products during NeoCon, June 14-16, 2010, in Chicago.
