First hand dryer manufacturer to commission an independent Life Cycle Assessment.
A leader in sustainability, the manufacturer was the first hand dryer company to commission an independent Life Cycle Assessment peer reviewed to ISO 14040 standards. The results confirmed that when compared to traditional hand dryers and paper towels (virgin and 100 percent recycled content), the high-speed, energy-efficient XLERATOR® Hand Dryer reduces the Climate Change Score (carbon footprint) of hand drying up to 75 percent.

First hand dryer manufacturer to publish Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
To combat false product claims, Excel Dryer initiated the process to create Product Category Rules (PCR) for the hand dryer industry with UL Environment (a business division of Underwriters’ Laboratories). William Gagnon, vice president of marketing & sales, was asked to chair the committee for the endeavor. PCRs establish industry-consensus parameters for testing a product’s performance and environmental impacts. Using these guidelines, Excel’s signature products received the first Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in the industry.

Student curriculum informs on the negative environmental impact of paper towels.
The team at Excel Dryer developed a green curriculum for students across the country to complete. Featuring two worksheets and facilitating hands-on experience in field research, energy auditing and project management, the company hoped to create awareness within the younger generation. As an added incentive, Excel Dryer has offered to donate 100 dryers, two each to the first 50 schools to complete the curriculum in the school year.

XLERATORsync reverses air flow to blow downward toward the back/bottom of the sink basin, which is built with distinct depth and angles to accommodate the high-speed air.
